Northumbria University

CBC have worked in partnership with Northumbria University since 2016, successfully delivering coaching supervision to our internal coaching network, leadership coaching, action learning set facilitation training and the Leader and Manager as coach workshop as part of our Learning Offer available to all colleagues and to our academic senior leadership team. CBC have also supported a number of colleagues to complete the ILM Level 5 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring to strengthen our internal coaching network. The workshops delivered by Cath and her team consistently deliver excellent feedback. Examples include:

  • the trainer Julie McVeigh delivered an excellent session. Knew her stuff, kept the pace moving well. Expertly planned and delivered. One of the two best training sessions I have had in 12 years at Northumbria!
  • The facilitators were warm, friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and ran a very smooth operation. They managed to take an active interest in each of the participants and our personal reasons for taking the course while also keeping the session moving along and avoiding delving into anything that might be confidential. I was really impressed with them and will be recommending the course to colleagues.
  • This was a very valuable and insightful session, brilliantly lead by Julie. I have already recommended this to my colleagues.

Working with the team at CBC is an absolute pleasure and very much feels like a partnership rather than a provider/commissioner relationship. They take a coaching approach to understand our needs, ask great questions, listen, understand first and then come up with innovative solutions. Always willing to flex and adapt as we go, they upskill my team and are always there as support whenever we need them, even if just a quick call to sound out an idea.  We value their down-to-earth consultative approach and delivery style, and the insight they bring to Northumbria.”

Muckle LLP

We’ve worked with Cath for over four years and have found her energy, enthusiasm and level of knowledge immensely helpful.  Cath has supported us to develop our values and behaviours, embed our great conversations framework and introduce peer coaching sessions as part of our bespoke leadership programme.  In addition, Cath and her team of expert coaches have supported a number of our people to reduce noise and reach their potential through impactful coaching interventions.

Cath is passionate about what she does, not afraid to challenge and is generous with her knowledge. She takes the time out to get to know the business meaning she is able to support our people in a meaningful way.

I’d have no hesitation in recommending Cath to any organisation looking for support in developing and implementing a high quality people strategy, leadership programme or coaching intervention.

We have had fantastic value from Cath as a coach for our leadership team – both for members individually and for the team as a whole.  It has been a hugely positive experience for us and this is down to Cath’s positivity, her experience and knowledge and her commitment to keeping people challenging themselves.  I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Cath as a team coach.

Show Racism the Red Card

Cath Brown has been of immense support to me as Chief Executive of Show Racism the Red Card. The last three years have been extremely challenging for all of us with the Pandemic following many years of cuts and austerity. Cath has helped coach me during this time and given me the tools to deal with many of the problems our charity has faced. My sessions with Cath always leave me invigorated, and with a much clearer strategy for dealing with whatever problems have arisen. Show Racism the Red Card are a growing organisation, and Cath has helped us put together a much clearer strategy for going forward in the next five years.

Ged Grebby Chief Executive, Show Racism the Red Card

NCFE

NCFE has worked with Cath Brown Consultancy since 2016. Cath has been instrumental in upskilling our leaders and managers through the delivery of the Manager as Coach course. Cath and her team have also successfully delivered the ILM level 3 Award in Coaching to our internal coaching team, and more recently supported with an organisational roll-out of a Great Conversations course to our managers and leaders. In addition, Cath and her team have designed and delivered a number of bespoke CPD sessions for our internal coaching team and wider leadership team at NCFE.

Cath and her team deliver a high quality service. Their passion and extensive knowledge of coaching and the benefits that using a coaching approach can have on organisational performance is transformational. CBC is always willing to tailor their training approach in order for organisations to get the best outcomes and results. The team are always happy to add organisational context and narrative to support the engagement of delegates.

We have always received positive feedback from colleagues who have completed their training with CBC. It is due to this engagement that CBC is our first choice supplier for the delivery of specialised coaching workshops and the delivery of our ILM coaching qualifications.

CBC has been pivotal in successfully upskilling our coaching capability at NCFE, helping to drive organisational performance. NCFE values the supportive two-way relationship that we have with CBC - their readiness to customise or create resources that fulfil our development requirements, whilst using their expertise to shape and guide the process to achieve successful outcomes.

Debbie Burnicle Consulting Ltd

I was first introduced to Cath and her team of Associates when attending a two-day ‘Introduction to Coaching for Primary Care’, with the North East Leadership Academy (NHS). I was so impressed, and got so much out of it, that I decided to undertake and personally fund the year-long ‘Institute of Leadership and Management Level 5 Coaching and Mentoring’ qualification with CBC.

I joined the course with a number of other people, from a wide range of backgrounds and we were mainly led and supported by Amber and Sandra, who both had lots of experience, with approaches and skill sets which worked really well together. They were always on hand in between the module training to give advice, and always brought the best out of the group time.

Cath and the team provided all the core materials, useful additional reading materials, advice with the three assignments as well as their wealth of experience coaching a range of clients and supervising a range of coaches.

I can’t thank them enough, and whilst I know I have just started my formal coaching journey, I do so with some confidence because of the quality of the training and support received. I would recommend them to anyone interested in coaching

Tricia, Thank you so much for marking my assignment and sending the results so quickly. I’m so pleased to have passed! Thank you for all your support. I’ve really enjoyed the ILM Level 5 Leadership and Management course and have noticed a difference in managing my team since our first training session. I loved how the course was so applied and you made this really relevant to our roles. Thank you for being so supportive through your one to one sessions and over email too – this was a huge help and very much appreciated.
